Running NetBSD

Inspired by a bunch of people on the fedi doing the same thing, I'm giving NetBSD a go on the thinkpad. I'll keep adding to this page as I continue to experiment with it.
installation
Installation is really quick, only takes a couple of minutes. After boot the first thing you need to do is set a PKG_PATH, in my case:
# export PKG_PATH="https://cdn.NetBSD.org/pub/pkgsrc/packages/NetBSD/x86_64/11.0/All"
Not really sure why the installer doesn't set this for you, but I'm sure there's a reason. Then you can install pkgin, and use that to install some utilites:
# pkg_add pkgin # pkgin install sudo nano htop # nano /usr/pkg/etc/sudoers // add your user to sudoers
